wellness roundup: 5 things i’ve implemented in my daily routine
when quarantine started my whole routine was turned upside down. i was used to roaming through the streets of new york city freely and all of a sudden i was back in potomac, md attending my classes from my bedroom. i quickly committed to implementing certain steps into my day to make myself feel a little more organized.
the first thing was journaling, which i’ve been actually doing for quite a few years now. journaling in the morning allows me to clear away any messy thoughts so i can have a clean slate for the day. it’s also really special to have a sacred space for only me and have a lot of entries to look back on throughout the years.
second, i’ve become obsessed with having a skincare routine (glossier, please sponsor me). i’m a big advocate for glossier because they use clean ingredients in their products that are vegan and cruelty free. some of my favorites have been the milk jelly cleanser, the vitamin c serum, the exfoliating solution, and the cloud paint for a light blush sun-kissed look.
i’ve gotten into the habit of drinking a lotttttttt of water. i try to drink two and a half of my hydroflask’s because being extra hydrated tends to make me feel more focused and positive. it also helps me perform better in my workouts, which leads me to my next step…
exercise! i’m lucky that i’ve found workouts that i adore and look forward to so that exercise doesn’t feel like a chore anymore. i love 305 fitness and i’ll be talking about them more in my health journey post (coming soon!), and you can stream their videos for free on youtube. i also love the peloton app and have been doing their strength classes for a while now.
my last step or activity i’ve put into my daily routine is reading. it’s been a while since i’ve had the time to actually enjoy a book and read for pleasure, and now i can’t get enough of it. some of my favorites have been small great things, everybody’s son, becoming by michelle obama, and the secret life of bees.
some of these things might seem extremely simple or basic, but they’ve definitely helped to keep me feeling put together and positive when a lot of things in the world are very uncertain. if you try any of these ideas lemme know how they work for you!
