The Flour Table on Bleecker St!

I couldn’t be more excited to welcome you all into my home on Bleecker Street for my first dinner party from my dinner party series titled The Flour Table! The Flour Table is a space for home cooked food, meaningful conversations, sustainable food awareness, and community. This has become a piece of my heart and my first go at it was a smash hit! Here’s a recap of dinner party #1:

On the menu

  • Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna

  • Vegetable Summer Rolls

  • Ginger, Chili, Scallion Fried Rice

  • Sesame Roasted Broccoli

I got all of my fresh ingredients the day of from Essex Market. I love this market so much, and especially love their unique Asian ingredients. This was the first time I tried kewpie mayo and it was delicious in the spicy tuna mixture. I also picked up dried lavender from a dried flower stand in the market for the ambiance! It made for a beautiful table scape.

Fried Rice

The meal turned out really wonderful. The star of the show was definitely the crispy rice, huge thanks to my sister Sammi for her assistance throughout the whole night! She helped me tremendously with the crispy rice, letting me borrow her air fryer which was a life saver, and kept me calm when I started to get into a time crunch. She’s the best sous chef & my best friend.

My goal for The Flour Table is for it to become a homey, warm, fun space for people to get to know each other, share a meal that was made with love, and learn something new about sustainably sourced food.

with love ♥️,

Sydney
